I’m not sure if it is a dream or not. But, about 2:30 this morning I woke
up convinced I would not be able to properly footnote the presentation I’m
giving Saturday, or do the bibliography correctly.
“Don’t be stupid,” I told myself. “You’ve done plenty of both and know how
to do them. Plus, you have used different sections of all of these sources
before and could just reuse the bibliography of previous years and be OK.”
Despite that, worries of footnotes kept me up for another two hours.

When I did fall asleep again, I dreamed my wife and I were doing some sort
of historical sword show in some kind of park like area with a beach on a
lake. It was night time and it seemed to just be the two of us without
other troupe members or audience. As we packed up out things, this blue
van showed up.
At first we liked that as the headlights gave us light to pack up. But,
when we started back to the car, it started following us very closely.
Being tailgated by a van is bad enough in a car, but when you’re on foot it
is very worrying.
We started to run, and it kept up with us.
There was a playground area on the beach, so we turned sharply into that
and the van could not follow.
It sped up and took a road off of the beach and across the lawn between the
lake and some buildings.
My wife and I sat on the slide in the playground and looked up at the sky.
Even though there was enough light at ground level to see the beach, lawn,
lake, some trees and playground equipment, the sky was very dark. There
were many stars out and they looked like glowing diamonds.
Dream ends

I’m not at all sure what this one is about. When I was up after the
bibliography scare I read

brickhousewench’s story of her
historical reenactment at Plymouth State, so maybe that was what got me
thinking about shows in parks/college campuses.
Not sure about the van.
The #1 person on my “dance on their grave” list drove a van at my last
knowing. But, that was silver, not blue. But, I’d be lying if I said part
of me isn’t still worried about that evil van driver. Maybe my dream just
changed the color…

Any way you look at it, I wish I had more sleep…
