[Poll #1163550]

I can’t wear metal.
No rings, not watches, no piercing, earrings etc.
My skin breaks out with any prolonged contact with metal. I’m given to understand it is the nickel in the metal that does this and is not uncommon.
So, one of the results is that I have not been able to wear a wedding ring.
Many years ago, my wife stopped wearing hers. Although she was also getting a skin reaction, one of her reasons was “you don’t, why should I?”
For work I needed to get some 7/8” O-rings to hold a lock in place. That’s just about the diameter of my finger. These are made of an FDA food approved grade rubber. I may be able to have that against my skin. (May not too. Don’t know.)
The question is, should I?
Should I wear this as a wedding ring?
It’s not the non-rusting gold. It’s only $0.28 of rubber.
It will wear out, but I can buy more if I have to.
I’m just not sure if it is a stupid idea or not.
Opinions?

Hematite is psychically volatile. It's supposed to help calm people down and be soothing, but it makes me wildly insane and angry. (Someone gave me a bracelet of hematite and it was gorgeous, but for weeks I wanted to kill all of humanity. Took it off and gave it away. All returned to normal.)

Your mileage may vary.

Nickel makes my son break out too. Where the back of his jeans button rubs on his belly it a huge red rash. We tape over the button back or paint it with nail polish. Maybe a plastic lining of some sort?

Ring gone bad...
