Week in photos
Jan. 11th, 2026 04:42 pmMonday was my mother’s funeral. Already posted those photos.
Wednesday morning there was an ice storm. It was far too slippery for me to get out, so I started from home.

Eventually they treated the parking lot and then I just had to get the ice off my car and get up the hill to the road.

Even the river in Boston froze over.

Thursday was the company holiday party. It was held at Fenway park where the Red Socks play. They had three of the four world series trophies there. I guess if you want the 2004 on, you have to pay extra. We were allowed to bring a +1, so my wife came with me.

Despite the party Thursday night, Friday was a work day.

Saturday before the show, we stopped at the market to get some stuff for lunch and another driver hit the car while we were shopping. My wife had stayed with the car, and I think that is the only reason the person owned up to it. It was a fairly small scape. Not sure it’s worth getting the panel replaced.

When we got to the show site, it was VERY muddy. They were doing a bon fire using all the Christmas trees they collected from people in town. There were several hundred.

The park department brought us some tools we could use to push the water off our stage. It helped a lot.

I showed all our planning and safety procedures to the fire department there. They did not seem too worried about us and said "sounds like you’re more prepared than we are.

After we finished the witches danced.

Once the bonfire started, I understood why the fire department hadn’t been too worried about us. That fire was bigger than all the fire shows we’ve done together over the last 24 years.
