I dreamed that I was in bed waiting for a ladder to descend through our ceiling. I had been told it would happen some time in the night and that when it did I would have to connect a small section of ladder I had with me to the one coming out of the ceiling to anchor it.
To do that I would have to do a math problem while connecting it. I wasn’t told the problem, but I was told the answer would be 3.88 and it was important I get it right.
As I lay there in bed, I realized that the ladder was starting to descend and coming through some sort of swirly portal thing on the ceiling in the hallway outside of the bedroom.
I ran over with my section of ladder and started to do the math problem.
But, I got an answer of 3.66, not 3.88.
Dream ends

I woke up quite upset with myself for getting it wrong, and saw that the clock said it was just about the time we switched from winter to spring. I haven’t been able to get back to sleep since.

In the dream it was not at all clear who was giving me the instruction, where the ladder was coming from, or why.
All I was sure about was that it was important.

Our apartment wasn’t quite as it is, but was close. It was a bit more open, and had wood floors, not carpet.
