Adventures on a Saturday
Mar. 17th, 2012 05:32 pmThis morning we set off to test drive the Prius C that I want to buy.
They only have them in black right now, but are going to order me a green one.
MY wife liked it and we took it for a test drive.

I think our sales person resembles a certain Uncle Phinneas who’s painting I saw on line a while ago. Not only that, but his voice even sounds like Jack Salt. That picture doesn’t show it well, but he really does look like an uncle of Lance, at least to me.

We spent a lot of time filling out paper work and such.

Hi office furniture was made by my old company. It is the line of which I was the project manager. So, when he didn’t know how to keep his desk drawer shut I showed him.

I really want the green one. They said they’d offer me a discount on the black on since it was in stock. But, their offer was 0.087% off.
I told them I’d wait for the green.
They said it should be in by the end of the month.
We filled out all the paperwork, put down the deposit and now it is just a question of waiting for it to arrive.
My wife didn’t want to face the mall on a Saturday, and who could blame her, so I dropped her off at home and headed out to get the computer repaired.
I’ve been going to the Natick mall since I was about 5. It is now about 6 times larger than it was when I was a kid. So, I needed a map to figure out where I was parked.

I got to my appointment early, so stopped for lunch at the sushi place outside the Apple store. It’s one of those ones where they put food on the conveyer belt and you take off what you want. It adds an element of excitement to sushi.
“Come on inari! Come around that bend!”

It was kind of fun eating that way, but the sushi is better at Osaka.

At the end they bill you based on the color codes of the plates.

The computer has a dead drive. I could replace it myself, but they are going to try and rescue some data from it. And, they’ll restore the system software and base apps too.
So, I left it there for a week to be repaired.
Then, off for food. But, that will be a different entry.

Date: 2012-03-17 11:23 pm (UTC)But, it looks green in the catalog.
I was hoping for more of an aqua color, but this is the closest they have. I don't want to pay 6k more just to have more choices in color.

So is the first music you're going to play be Sea Shanties to honor Uncle Phineas? :D
I forgot to mention, when I went to the Job Fair this Friday, AIS had a table.
Sorry to hear about the harddrive :(

Date: 2012-03-18 02:09 pm (UTC)The black was better than the white, but still not what I wanted.
If they had offered me better than 0.87% off to take the black I might have considered it.

I really wanted silver or gray for my Soob, as I also think silver, metallic and gray colors look good on cars. The one soob at the lot I had considered was a really nice bluish-greenish-gray color, but wasn't as good a 'deal' as I thought at the time when I ended up with my gold colored Soob. The color is slowly growing on me. By state definition it's "brown".
