My wife calls in the air strike

At some point today the manager of the apartment complex in which we live
is going to go into our apartment and determine if it is now in an
acceptable state.
We’ve spent the evenings between Monday, when this was scheduled, and now
trying to address the concerns that were brought up when I walked into the
manager’s office Monday night to try and get this resolved.
We’ve replaced the bookcase that was not in good condition.
I’ve moved the stuff that was in front of the back door.
We did a general cleaning of the living room, bed room, spare room and
kitchen.
Wednesday we had to deal with the problem that Thursday they decided to
clean our heating system vents so extra time was spent in the spare room.
But, my wife was still worried. So, she called in a cleaning air strike.
She got her friend Sue, who works at a cleaner at the college where my wife
works and

people to come over yesterday and really give our place a cleaning.
Both of them worked very hard cleaning up the place.
Both of them also said our place didn’t seem that bad to them.
(Of course I know where the bar is set for bad for them, so it is good we
didn’t reach that.)
There is still a lot of stuff in our apartment. We’ve got a lot of stuff
and I don’t want to just throw away stuff to make the apartment manager
happy.
And, we’ve lived there 18 ½ year. The carpets were there when we moved in.
None of the walls have been painted in that time. The fixtures and
appliances (with the exception of the dishwasher changed 12 years ago) all
predate us.
So, the place is not sparkling and new. And, without us hauling all of our
stuff out and redoing the place, it isn’t going to be.
But, hopefully it will be OK.
