I’ve been applying for new jobs.
Having been an engineer for 39 years now, the position I want would be a higher level one and there aren’t that many of those.

But, I’ve found half a dozen so far.

Several, non-scam, head hunters have contacted me with possibilities.

My old coworker contacted me about going back to the place I left a year ago. I explained how little I felt they respected me or my work. She expressed great surprise at this, but also pointed out that all the folks who did that have left or been fired.
So, maybe it would be better.

All the design work they moved to the UK, but I guess a project is coming back. And, it’s something right up my alley.
So, I told her to put in my name.

My old boss might be able to get me some consulting with a different robot company in Boston. I’d have to have my own CAD system. $4000 computer with $3000 software. Minimum.
But, when they let us all go last week, they said we could buy our computers for $500.

So, I called up and it was not too late to get one. So, I’m going to do that.
I won’t do the software unless I get some work. But, the hardware for 12.5% of the cost is too good to pass up.

They had only given us a week or when they’re all gone to do it, so I will need to go and get it either today or tomorrow.

I’ve also started making bread and experimenting with food my wife and I can both eat. We’ll see how that works out…

Started baking bread during the covid years.
But tried to scale back to just the winter months.
But the way things are going at the grocery store, might start trying to bake more often.

Looking forward to comparing notes :D

Yeah. I use a "no kneed" 3 ingredient mix I found on YT.

it's bread, it doesn't have to be fancy.

Gee, is Night Wing still at the old company?

That's great that they let you buy your old computer.

When I can stop with the full time office work I want to bake breads.

That's a decent price, presumably it's a newish model?
