Friends, lakes, storms

The weather reports said a hurricane was coming, but Friday it looked OK.

So, we headed up to NH to visit

23 years ago when I met him we lived in Lebanon NH working at the music synthesizer place.
But, now I don’t take that turn onto 89 any more...

We got there Friday and had a nice visit.
Saturday morning it looked like a very nice day.

Soon, we joined them and went swimming in the lake. The water was warm and clear.

The fish are getting big and bold there.

The dogs were very interested in the fish.

It was a nice morning next to the lake.

Even the humming birds were out.

We went out to get supplies for lunch and Coco wanted to drive.

Because of the impending storm, they had taken the river level down so there would be room for more water.

It was pretty low.

This sign seemed to give me mixed signals. I guess it is “leave unless you buy land.”

They had the inflatable corn out, so the storm couldn’t be too bad, right?

There were lots of things in bloom.

Then, it was time to get the things in to cover.

All the furniture, boats and dog toys needed to be put away. We got it done fairly quickly.

For dinner, things were grilled.

And, it was a beautiful sun set.

Later, my wife made cookies.

The cookies were put under a dog resistant force field.

Woodrow tried to use his heat vision on it, but it didn’t work.

Sunday was not as nice.

There was still a trip to the store.

But, when they returned Woodrow had to be lured out of the car.

To be fair, it was raining a lot.

The spiders seemed to have some trouble with the rain.

About noon we set off home in the rain.

There was only one tree that was actually in the road.

The capitol of NH was very rainy.

Back at home, there were some branches down, but not whole trees.

One of our usual parking spaces was taken, so we parked in another spot.

Despite hurricane Irene, it was still a very nice weekend. We enjoyed seeing
