This morning my wife and I decided to go over to the Art in the park in Worcester. We had been over to it in 2009 and 2010 and liked it a lot.

Apparently word had gotten out as even a spider wanted to get in on it.

It clung to the window for a long time, but eventually blew off when we hit about 50.

It was a beautiful day in Worcester.

When we got to the park, it was not clear there was art in it. The last two years there have been brightly colored things very visible from the road. This year I guess they didn’t go with as many brightly colored things, and what was there was on the far side from where we parked.
It was enough that I got worried it was in July not August.
But, eventually we saw signs.

(Actually, we were 3/4 of the way before we saw the actual sign.)

My wife spotted this one as we crossed the road and assured me it was art.

Since she studied art, I take her word for it.

This one was a bit more clear.

To me, this one looks like “tooth with gummy bear remains”. But, that’s not the title.

From the road these two look like rocks. That’s why I wasn’t sure.

My wide says this isn’t part of the exhibit.

But, it is a totally artificial park that I think is quite pretty. Why doesn’t it count on its own, especially if they treat the water?

I guess I could have seen this one from the road, but didn’t.

I’m not sure if this is an exhibit or not.

This was the only sign near it, and doesn’t seem to be Art in the Park related.

These things floated all over the lake. I’m told by the sign that they are part of the exhibit. But, I never found a sign for them.

This one was at least big.

I didn’t find a sign for this one either. But, the main sign counted it as part of the exhibit.

I have to admit, the first thing I thought was “Horta eggs aren’t usually at the surface!”

This one was tall.

I liked this one the best.

As with most of the art from previous years it was made of recycled materials. And, it was colorful. It was just on the opposite side from last year.

I don’t know why, but I just like rows of laundry detergent heads lining the entrance to a park.

As I’ve said before, 30 years ago when I moved to the area, it seemed very separated from the rest of the state. Now we get our own flights to Florida.

I can’t complain. That’s how my wife and I got there last year. Maybe even on that very plane.

Not sure portals to what.

I’m not sure if the used Gatoraid bottle on top is part of it or not...

This one made me think of piano keys using the trees as strings. I don’t know if that’s what it was after, but that’s what I got.

I’m not sure if this was a performance piece or not. The water fowl certainly didn’t move much more than the art.

I have to admit my first thought on this one was “pooping in the pond”

After reading the name, I’m not sure what it was supposed to be.

You had to get through some swampy area to get to the signs. Don’t know if that was part of the installation or not.

And, I can’t tell if it is filling up, or spreading the water out in front of it.

But, it’s something. My wife even took a photo of me taking a photo of her taking a photo while I was next to it.

This is truth in advertising.

This was cool.

My wife liked this one.

I don’t think they were doing performance art. But, behind them is some sort of a painting of the bridge legs made to blend in with the bridge legs.
I’m glad they had the big sign up or I’d never have known it was there.

Don’t get the title of it.

When I saw this, I didn’t know if was art of something to keep bugs out of the trees. (Worcester has a terrible problem with some bug from Japan that has made them cut down large areas of trees.)

This didn’t have a sign, and didn’t appear on the big sign. But, it could be art.

As with the other, not sure of the title.

If they hadn’t said “suspended” I never would have looked up.

Then, it was home to clean the house.

(Actually, that’s mid-cleaning where things from other rooms was brought out there for sorting. But, it gives an idea of scale.)
