Moving day
Sep. 20th, 2007 08:50 amI moved into my new office today. It’s very nice. Not big, but has a window.
It’s going to take me a while to get my junk adjusted. The IT woman is trying to get the computer going now, so I’m using my laptop for this. And, I’ve giving a tour in 10 minutes to a supplier.
I did find one important lesson. Don’t pick up X-Acto blades with a magnet. It results in a bunch of very sharp blades shooting at your fingers.
But, I had bandaids too.
(Did you know bandaids stop the track pad from working? Now I do...)

Date: 2007-09-21 03:22 am (UTC)We have these trays that are used to hold plaques for spray painting, which we then assemble or I screenprint.
These trays have accumulated hundreds of layers of spray paint over the years, esspecially around the edges of the trays.
Sometimes these start to flake off in various length, and sometimes can be fun to pick at at random intervals.
Today I felt like chipping some pieces off after a few others had flaked off from handling the tray...But I was chipping with a small screwdriver with my right hand, while my left was holding the tray about 5 inches from the screwdriver.
So one solid whack + physics + dumbass = screwdriver being driven into my hand, the web between thumb and finger, nearest to the thumb.
But, superglue is good at closing wounds without much issue. Better than bandaids sometimes.
Still a little sore.
