The Faire is coming

With 9 months to go until we put on our own faire, today we went to look over the site we’ve rented for it.

We’ve performed there several times at other faires, and once had out Phoenix Sword Christmas party there as well. But, this is the first time we’ve walked around the place empty before.
It does look like it will have lots of parking.

Personally, I like the idea of making this our main entrance.

It is a bit of a hill.

The field has plenty of room for vendors.

Now we need lots of vendors. Any suggestions?
We’d like folks not seen at every other faire in the area. But, it is a really big field too.
This little house is going to be our “green room” for the cast.

This is where the “baron” and “baroness” will sit.

I am amazed that with it only 2 degrees above freezing and mid-November, there is sitll a good bit of green on the forest floor.

I’ve never been back in the woods here before. It goes on a lot more then I realized.

You know, I don’t think the events that cause use to form Phoenix Swords 8 1/2 years ago would repeat, but it’s good to see signs like this just in case.

I love streams and bridges across streams. And, there are a lot of both there.

Not to mention totems to keep bad spirits away.

It does have indoor spots in case the weather is bad.

(Of course, I’m quite hopeful it will be good.)
Inside the main building they have a very large chess board. Several years ago Phoenix Swords invested in a castle. Here it is.

My wife and one of our members took our 300’ tape measure to get some dimensions of the big field.

I hope it isn’t a bad sign, but going back into Worcester, we found that someone had stolen Orson, the Polar Cola bear that sits on their factory!

Hopefully it is just that he was so excited to hear we were putting on our own faire again that he has already left to go get in line for it!
