In the dream I was two different characters and my perspective would change
between them.
At first I was some sort of investigator or agent in LA looking for people
with special powers.  As I was searching the city, some sort of advanced
nuclear weapon was set off in the north section of city.  It wasn’t a big
nuke, but it destroyed a neighborhood without having any fallout or very
much radiation.
I knew I had to find one of the special people to stop any more from going
off.
I was down near the beach at an underground subway station when a teenager
ran out of the subway and into me.  I knew he was what I was looking for
and I grabbed him.
He was babbling about being chase because of what he saw and how I had to
protect him.  I told him to explain what he was talking about.
My perspective then switched to him as he talked about what he had seen.
He (I) had been walking down the above ground LA monorail line.  It wasn’t
in use yet, but went over most of the bad areas of town, so it was a good
way to walk places and avoid trouble.
Someone had told me I had to go to the north side of the city, but I
couldn’t remember who or why.
Just as the sun set, I stopped to watch the lights of the city come on.
The monorail at that point was on a small rise and I could see quite a bit
of the city.
About a mile down the hill from where I was I could see a warehouse.
Something drew my attention to it, although it looked fairly normal to me.
As I watched there was a flash inside of the warehouse.  Then, a blue glow
of radiation surrounded it.  The haze of blue radiation focused into arcs
of blue light flashing like arcs of electricity.  But, as they reached
higher, they collapsed almost like they were out of glowing blue water.
The pattern of them started fairly regular, but quickly became chaotic.
Where the blue particles fell to ground, they disintegrated whatever they
touched.
I realized it was going to blow up very soon and I was too close to it.
I was sitting on the rail of the monorail watching it, so I put my feet on
the rail and began pushing myself backwards down the rail while I was still
sitting on it.
As I backed away I saw the blue particles get denser and denser.  I knew it
was only seconds until it blew up.
I pushed harder and realized I was at the end of the track at the south
side of the city.  As I stopped pushing, I saw the explosion happen and a
small mushroom cloud start to rise on the north side of town several miles
from where I had just been.
I looked around for some place to hide.
There was an underground subway station across the street.  A young girl
standing at the entrance waved me over.
“You’ve got to get underground, they’re after you,” she said.  “Run and
hide.  Don’t let them get you.”
I took her advice.  I ran into the station, slid down the very deep
escalator rails and jumped over the turnstiles into the station.
The underground station was much more like a shopping mall then a subway
station.  Stores were all over the place.  Carts of things in the middle of
the tunnel.  Neon lights lit up the place in all sorts of color.
As I quickly walked through the stalls I realized there were people
following me.  I knew if they were just after me for jumping the turnstiles
they would be wearing police uniforms and shouting for me to stop.
I grabbed some random shirts and hats off of a stall and started to run.
A chase ensued down many corridors and through more shopping areas.  As I
ran I switched clothing and hats to try and throw them off.
Finally, I came to rest in an old brick part of the station where there
were lots of wooden benches.  Lots of homeless people lived in this part of
the station, sleeping on the benches.
I sat on one, breathing hard from all of the running.
“What’s wrong, buddy?” the guy on the other side of the bench asked.
“Cops chasing me,” I said.  “Not sure why.”
“They do that to me all the time,” he said.  “Give me a hand up and I’ll
show you how to shake them.”
I reached over the top of the bench to give him a hand up.  He slapped a
hand cuff on me.
“I can’t believe you fell for that,” he said.
He got up from under the newspapers he had been under and I saw he was one
of the people who had been chasing me.
I looked down at the hand he had cuffed.  I pulled it back fast.  It was
fast enough that it stretched out as I pulled and came out of the loop.
He looked confused as the cuff fell down in front of him, and I ran.
I shot out into a large underground plaza where there were lots of carts of
small items for sale.
I was moving very fast and having trouble dodging people and carts.  I lost
my footing and crashed into a sun glass stand at a booth.
I looked around and saw the exit to the street level.  I sprinted up it
where I was caught by the other me at the entrance.
Dream ends

(This one had elements of the movies Next and Wanted in it that were pretty
clear to me.  Nukes in LA.  Seeing things that were about to happen.
Moving very fast for short times.  People chasing you around stations.
It is unusual for me to have more than one view point in a dream.  Usually
I’ve only got one, even if I know other things that are going on.  To see a
flash back from someone else’s eyes is not something I remember in any
other dream.
The underground subway is very similar to other underground subways I’ve
had in other dreams, but with much more stuff like people and shops then
usual.)
