It was 15 years ago today my wife got her new car. It was the first brand new car she ever had, and the last brand new car we’ve bought. (We have had 3 used cars in those 15 years...)

I remember driving her over to the car dealership to get it. On the way home, she really took off.
“Wow, she really likes having a sporty little car,” I said.
It turns out that the floor mat was over the gas pedal and she couldn’t get it to go slower.

But after 15 years it is still going well. It has had some knocks, but keeps on going.

And, it’s not the only Saturn still going. My wife’s sword partner’s is the one in the middle, my wagon on the right.

It is really too bad

that GM closed down that auto division. Perhaps someone will pick it up again. I enjoyed my Saturn - it was cheap, reliable, got 38 MPG easily, and, while it did have various things wear out - was fairly cheap to repair&maintain. The plastic body panels that never rusted was also good. I didn't like what the newest ones were becoming, though: larger much heavier, less fuel efficient, complex, and styled by space aliens, from what I could tell.
