Three weird dreams

Last night the bedroom was very hot, but I didn’t want to open the windows
as we had both felt sick all day due to the high pollen count.
I don’t sleep well when it is hot. I don’t sleep well when I can’t
breathe. Combine the two and I got very little sleep last night. When I
did fall asleep I weird and disturbing dreams that woke me back up.
First:
I dreamed I was again attending some sort of college or school. I was
going to the library to meet my study partners and was carrying a big pile
of books. It was in an old building with lots of wood work on the walls
and the stairs.
I got to the top floor and opened the big double wooden doors. The two
people I was supposed to meet to study with were at a table right near the
door facing me. My father was sitting next to them.
“So, the ghost of my father,” I said.
He started to say something. I dropped my books, pointed at him and began
yelling at him in a language I don’t know. While I didn’t understand the
words, I knew that it was going to banish his ghost.
“You don’t understand,” he said. “That’s not why I’m here.”
I completed the spell and he disappeared.
I looked at my two study partners and realized they hadn’t been able to see
him. They only saw me come in, throw down my books, point towards them and
start shouting words they didn’t know.
Dream ends.
Second:
I was in my parents house, sitting in my father’s chair in the living room.
It was night and the windows were pitch black.
There was no sign of anyone else being home.
Above me I heard a noise. I looked up at the ceiling. I could hear a
clicking/tapping noise like an animal with claws moving around on a hard
floor above me.
I stood up to try and figure out where it was coming from. As I moved more
towards the center of the room, it moved over towards the outside wall.
When it reached the windows, it got much louder.
It became a pounding on the windows and I was afraid the glass would break.
But, a crack appeared in the frame around the glass. A stream of what
looked like steam shot through the crack right at me. Although it looked
like steam, it was very cold.
Dream ends.
Third:
I was at a science fiction convention, walking around the hotel where it
was held. A man came out of the dealers room and walked up to me holding a
model.
“Frank, you’re going to want this one,” he said, holding it out. It was a
model of a space station with all sorts of Star Trek ships docked at it.
“It comes with all the docked ships?” I asked. He nodded.
“Every Starfleet ship ever shown on screen,” he said.
I saw that there was a Russian Soyuz capsule docked to the station as well.
“I don’t remember any Soyuz capsules showing up on Star Trek,” I said.
“That’s sort of an in joke on the model makers part,” he said. “It
separates the people who know what they’re talking about from the fakers.”
“I do like the other ships,” I said.
“Did you see the warp nacelles on this one,” he said, pointing to one.
“They’re from the concept model only shown in the ship graveyard.”
They looked like Galaxy class nacelles that were tapered a bit more and
angled at the ends.
“Yeah, I’ll take one,” I said.
“One is all I’ve got left,” he said. “I’ll go get it for you.”
I followed him into the dealers room. His table was piled high with models
of all sorts. It filled the left wall of the room as I went in, piled
higher then my head. Many I had. Many I didn’t. But, I didn’t see any I
didn’t have that were as cool as the one he showed me.
I went up to his register and he handed me a box with the model kit. It
was $80.49. I looked in my wallet. I only had $23.
“Credit card?” I asked, holding out my card.
“Let me find my reader,” he said.
As he searched around in his piles of things under his table a line formed
behind me.
“Move it, buddy,” a teenager said behind me.
“I can’t make him find his credit card reader any faster,” I said.
“Then pay with cash,” he said.
I checked again. I still didn’t have enough.
“Wait your turn,” I told him.
As the store guy kept searching, the kid started pressing against me,
trying to push me forward. He stood so his arms and legs matched up with
mine and tried to force me to walk by treating me like a big puppet.
I jumped up and backwards knocking us both to the ground, but with me on
top of him. I landed on him, then kept rolling backwards doing a backwards
summersault over his head.
As I got up, he looked pretty dazed.
I grabbed him by the neck and slammed him against the wall.
“You will leave me alone,” I said.
“No, I won’t,” he said. “I’ll be waiting.”
“Alone,” I said, tightening my grip and lifting him off the floor by his
neck.
He smiled and shook his head no.
I took my fingers and hooked them behind his jaw on the left side, which I
know to be very painful.
“I have no desire to maim you,” I said. “But, I will if you don’t leave me
alone.”
We stared at each other. I thought he was going to agree.
Dream ends.
The last one I guess I can pin on watching bits Star Wars as it was on this
weekend for the 30th anniversary of Empire Strikes Back. I did see the
Darth Vader choking the officer part of the first one, and that is much
like the last dream.
But, I’m not sure about the others.

Date: 2010-05-24 09:00 pm (UTC)I had a really wacky dream last nite/this morning as well, so maybe the heat/humidity does things to your dreams...
I'll try to remember to post it soon.
