The shows went OK. We’ve done better. We’ve done worse.
The trip went well enough. Biggest problem was traffic. We seemed to run into more than usual.
Folks didn’t seem to talk as much this trip. Maybe because of portable games. I certainly heard a lot of beeping from behind me as I drove. I had brought videos for them to watch, but I guess it was hard to watch in the moving car.
My heart wasn’t in it as much as it should have been. It was fun. I think I put on an acceptable performance. But, it’s been difficult focusing on that with the other stuff going on.
The flip side is it gave me something I really love doing to work on. (Unlike the day job which gives me something I really have to work on, but not something I go out of my way to do. Performance and sword fighting are both things I go out of my way to do.)
I do feel bad that I sat and let things happen more than direct them to happen as is my job.
The good part of that is our people proved to me that I can trust them. That they will get things done without needing prodding. That even if I am phoning it in more than I should, they are going to be taking up the slack.
The folks we have now are gold. While it would be nice to have more, I want to keep the gold and not take anodized aluminum in it’s place.

Look at it not so much as phoning in and more like allowing the day to take its course. If you have folks you trust to do the job nothing bad should happen.

I'm just happy I had the folks I did.
I can trust you, and the others.
And, I do appreciate that.

I think many, myself included were running on empty. It does show even if we're working on fumes we still run for quite awile.
