Rolling home to old New England

Yesterday morning we got up about 5:30 and headed back to old New England.
One cross of a bridge and we were out of KY.

North on 71 we saw a lot of police action as we had south on Friday. It wasn’t as much as Friday (1 per 20 miles instead of 1 per 5). We did see one reason they patrol so much.

Soon after that,

In Columbus we saw what we can do if we ever give up sword fighting.

I’m not much of a golfer, but...
They also have a Frank road.

Right at the Frank road exit is what appears to be a large pair of breasts, so maybe it is the road for me.

Up near Cleveland we saw this place:

I want to know, does the Bear drive the tow truck, or is it that they tow the bears away?
They also told me I could start school next month.

I’m not sure why I’d want to start school. It would be nice to get a higher degree, but I would really rather just get a job and work on something more than a bachelor’s later.
For some reason, we didn’t have many people tailgate us.

Even the emergency vehicles seemed to keep a distance.

There was a large debate over which of us Pennsylvania was welcoming.

“Me?” “No, you!”
We finally decided it was

We stopped in PA for lunch at a place with all sorts of options.
There was a lot of talk about this place:

Fireworks, pepper spray, stun guns and sugar free fudge? How can you beat that combination.
And, they had “Fudgie” the dancing piece of fudge out front. (To the right, by the sign...)

Another choice was this one:

Instead we picked the “Texas Roadhouse” that was founded in Indiana...
They have peanuts and drunk armadillos, so it was a winner.

But, then we got to New York and it’s 300 miles travel to Massachusetts.

You’ll note New York only does a generic welcome, it doesn’t say it welcomes you. I find this less confusing.
They do seem to have some issues with the local tribes. I’m not sure which treaty folks think they’re breaking, but it was a big sign.

And, there was a huge line for gas in upstate NY.

And, I mean huge. They had police directing traffic at the pump it was so busy.

Other than that, there wasn’t that much police activity in NY. A bit, but not Ohio levels.

About sunset we crossed through the mountains into MA.

I hadn't expected to deal with fireworks traffic as Saturday was the holiday. It must have rained a lot here too as they were doing them as we drove into Worcester. The hill where my wife and I live is a favorite place to watch them, so we had a lot of cars trying to get past us when it ended.
It was a nice trip, but a long drive. We were very happy to get home.
Although we made slower time getting home (food, gas, fireworks and my need for an extra bathroom break), only 4 people made
