After the 15 hour drive here it was tempting to sleep in.

But, just after 8, we were off to the faire.

It was about 1/2 hour from the hotel.

(I find it very funny we stayed in La Grange. It’s an orbital mechanics thing. Everything comes to rest at a La Grange point...)
Before the faire even opened,

Yes, it is bad of me when I don’t have gainful employment. In my defense, they were really nice swords that are rarely in stock at places we play, they only had the two, they replace two we’ve broken and I did still have some money set aside from my severance pay.
I think the guy selling them made more off us before the faire opened then the rest of the day. He was very nice and helped us clean them after using the swords for our show in the rain.
Of course we were there for the Drunk and Sailor show.

And, it was good to see the Ocean Swells again.

(Yes, only 2 of 3 swells are in the photo. But,

My wife’s shoes tried to bring home as much of Kentucky as possible.

We only had two shows to do all day. While we have performed at hundreds of faires, we don’t usually just attend them. We’re not sure what to do with ourselves when we don’t have a lot of shows to do.

This surprises some people.

We did watch a lot of other acts.
These folks were something to watch.

As someone who pays for performance insurance, the idea of juggling fire, indoors, where things are hanging from the ceiling, makes me nervous. But, not because I think anything will really go wrong. Just from a “what will that do to your premiums?” sort of thing.
They did a lot of trappeze stuff and hanging from the ceiling themselves which was good.
It did rain a lot of the day. So, our special performance notice almost washed away.

Some people were very excited about those carrot phoenixes.

They hid them everywhere.

After the faire, we went out to a local pizza place with the folks we knew from KY. We had a good time, but no photos were taken. Sad.
Finally, we had fireworks on the way back to the hotel.
