Saint Gregory’s, day 2
May. 17th, 2009 09:12 pmWe were able to get away with only 2 hotel rooms last night. As I’m trying to keep costs down, that helped a lot.
I have to say, I was not happy with the Super 8 motel we had. They gave us smoking rooms when I specifically asked for non-smoking and told me the only way to change was to charge us a lot more. But, we have still stayed at worse.
I slept with the window open, despite the rain, and we set off for the fair again this morning.

I have to say, I’m not sure I’ve seen a faire with more fine print for getting in.

I understand the reasons for it. But, that is a lot.
We had 14 people there today and got many compliments on our show. When we first showed up yesterday, I’m not sure if the church people were really ready for us. There seemed to be a “why are we paying you for this?” attitude from them.

But, by the end of the show today they had switched over and seemed to like us. You can tell because they said those words every performer likes to hear at the end of a show.
“We’ve got some left over food. Do any of you want to eat for free?”
We did.

We normally try and avoid driving through Connecticut, especially this part, because of the bad traffic. And, for a while on the drive home, I was afraid we might become one of those tragic stories that makes everyone laugh.

But, I am happy to say that the truck of onions did not fall onto the car full of swords.
