Dagger day

I went through Joachim Meyer’s dagger manual today so I can compare the statistics on attacks to the Mair sickle manual written 20 years before.
No results yet, just the data.
As AIS was nicer to me than the other two places that laid me off in the past, and unemployment has more than tripped in those 18 years, I’m not as hurting as I was afraid I’d be financially. I’m not saying I’m planning on going on a shopping spree. But, I think I’ll be OK taking my goddaughter to the aquarium for her birthday tomorrow. (Less expensive then a Jedi party in travel alone, never mind what I spent on props and gifts...)
This week was depressing on the job front. Neither of the places I heard from last week got back to me this week. When I chased them for an answer I got a “don’t rush us” as an answer. While that might not end up being bad, it isn’t the “hey, you’re just what we wanted” that I had (knowingly unrealistically) hoped for.
The last time I looked for a job (2003), there were about a dozen jobs posted a week that I thought I was qualified for. These days its less than half that. And, that is if I apply for engineering manager, director of engineering and such positions. For the record, I want a job, but really don’t like being management. I’ve done it before, so it isn’t a case of “try it, you may like it”. But, I’ll still put that resume in...
Cleaning the office I found a bunch of the artwork my wife used to do. And, it created space to display it. So, I’ve put up a bunch of her old drawings. (I’ve found a few more since I took the picture, but you get the idea.)
I’m glad I’ve got the space for that. I like having her work up.

It's been 3 weeks. I'm nowhere near the end of my list of projects. But, it is getting harder to be excited about them. Hopefully seeing the kids tomorrow will help that.
I know of one job opening, but don't think you want it!
