I’ve been sick all week, and not very interested in food. But, last night my wife asked if we could go out for sushi.
“Sure,” I said. “It’s only a couple of miles from home, why not?”
“You don’t think we’ll have trouble going to a place that does sea food on a Friday in Lent in a big Irish town do you?” she asked.
“We’ll go as soon as I’m home from work and I’m sure we’ll get a table,” I told her.
So, as soon as I got home from work, we got in her car and headed off.
We got caught in traffic, which is not unusual on Route 9 on a Friday. What was unusual is it seemed like there was a hot air balloon over the road.

Yes, as we got closer, it became apparent there was a hot air balloon over the sushi restaurant.

The reason was obvious, they were after our table. There are only 4 booths and they go fast. To avoid traffic, some enterprising person was trying to fly over the cars and get there before us.
The failed to take the wind into consideration and so as they tried to land in the parking lot in front of the sushi place, the drifted off to the church parking lot down the road.

The lifted off to try again, but as we parked in front of the sushi place we could see the hot air balloon wasn’t big on circling around for another try.

We got the last table and had a very nice dinner.
Today at the supermarket we found all of their Saint Patrick stuff was on sale 1/2 off. So, my wife bought me a new hat she said “suits me well”.

Not sure why, but it will make a good icon for the trip to Ireland we’re planning on this fall...

I blame the kids at the birthday party we performed at the day before anyhow. I know one of the mothers and some of the kids were sick last week too...
