The end of days
Mar. 20th, 2009 12:12 pmI saw a preview of the movie 2012 where they say the world is going to end based on ancient Mayan prophesies.
I’ve done some research into it and found something even more scary!
I checked every calendar in my office, and they all end December 31 of this year!!!!
Every single one of them!!!!
So, never mind 2012! I’m not sure we’re going to get to 2010!
And, the prophesies are clear.
In 1984 it was predicted that Jupiter would blow up in 2010!
This was, of course, based on the prophesies of Arthur C. Clarke, the man who predicted telecommunications satellites! (His prophesy was written in 1982. The film was 2 years later…)
Also, that great visionary DentAurthurDent foresaw the destruction of the Earth on a Thursday. This was well documented in his radio broadcasts, many books, TV show and movie.
December 31, 2009?
Yes! A Thursday!
The Vogons are probably already filing the paperwork needed for it!
I think we have a serious problem!
Worst of all, my Star Trek calendar ends on Dec 31 this year!
Think of all the vast technology of Star Trek. They can overcome the Klingons, Romulans, Ferengi, Borg and all sorts of assorted aliens.
But, even they didn’t see a way past the end of this very year on their calendar!

Well, that's beside the point!

Date: 2009-03-20 07:05 pm (UTC)I don't know. I know that I've managed to spend up to 36 hours in a single day because of flying east... (The 4th of July 2004 to show I was very patriotic.)
So, maybe if we all get in a plane the day before the end, and keep going east at the same speed the earth rotates, we'll keep in front of it!
