Week in photos
Aug. 17th, 2025 11:54 amThe fires are still burning across North America, but the air quality was better this week than last, so I guess the smoke isn’t coming down here as much.

They’ve filled in all the desks in my area of work. At 6AM it is pretty empty, but by 9 all of these desks are full and it is more challenging to get get out from the window where I sit.

There is a nice little balcony just along the wall from me that is nice if it isn’t too hot.

Some people do seem to put in more hours than me…

I’m sure the Massachusetts DMV uses a text address in Indonesia to inform people about outstanding tickets.

Checking on the actual mass.gov site (without clicking any links) confirm there aren’t any tickets.

Not sure why gas pumps aren’t working for me this week, but it’s been harder than normal to gas up.

Most of my drives home are about 90 minutes. Friday Google said it should be better than normal. It was wrong, it took 80.

Saturday we went to a game day held by some of our friends. I spent a short time there, and then drove over to the hospital where my mother now lives. I decided visit her rather than get more ! from Diane.
My brother and Diane were there about 20 minutes before me, but I didn’t know that at the time. I visited for about 45 minutes. She couldn’t really talk. She can get out a "yes" or "no" to questions, but anything else is just mumbles. She didn’t really seem very happy, but that is not a normal state for her anyhow.

Driving home I went down the exit ramp where my father lived in the 50’s before they put interstate 95’s exit ramp through it.

I also drove by the "Canton Viaduct" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canton_Viaduct) where I used to go hang out by when young and watch trains go by.

Then, swung by our friends, visited for a while, got my wife and did our grocery shopping.
