Vanity, thy name is Death Star…
Jul. 20th, 2023 02:28 pmIs it bad when you google your full name and despite 8 patents, multiple presentations at symposiums, hundreds of products designed you get less than 10 hits.
Two are about a postmaster with the same name out west 150 years ago. (I don’t think it is me. But, who knows?)
One is your name showing up in your father’s obituary.
One is showing a reference to someone else’s patent based on my work.
One doesn’t seem to contain my name in it at all.
And, three, are about my review of an inflatable Death Star I bought on Amazon several years ago.
By far the biggest result.

So, I am surprised it didn’t come up in that.
Of course, it could be the full name part. Just the first and last are surprisingly (to me at least) common.
Add the middle and junior, and it is less common, but that isn’t how I’ve got it on Linkedin either...
