fbhjr: (Hat of doom!)

Some folks will remember that last Christmas my wife bought herself a watch. I offered to help her adjust the size and the pin involved when sproinging off never to be found. Two hours with a very helpful jewelry salesman at Wal-Mart later, the whole watch band was replaced and my wife was happy

This year, due to a horrible laundry accident, she was again in need of a watch band. And, to complicate things, she had another old watch that needed a band and a battery.

So, despite being the weekend after Christmas, we headed over to Wal-Mart. (The Northboro Wal-Mart is never for the faint of heart, even at the best of times.)
The helpful sales person of a year ago was not there. Sad. The woman working today was not as helpful with the bands, but was still willing to swap out the battery as that took special tools.

We brought the two new bands home to the living room where the missing pin still lurks. This time, I had learned some lessons.
Vacuum the floor before starting.
Spread out a big solid colored blanket to catch any flying pins.

This time, no sproing. And, my wife says they fit well.
Yay!

Sometimes I will use one of those large, 1 gallon clear plastic storage bags, put the item inside and disassemble it within the bag - to catch those little bits that like to go "sproing" !

Good job !
