Despite the ice storm, lots of the state having no power, and generally nasty roads, [livejournal.com profile] zosh and [livejournal.com profile] yebo still had game night at their place yesterday.

Although I had power all day, I had lost my internet connection as our ISP didn’t have power. So, I had not had a chance to play the cool web game [livejournal.com profile] perrin_o_ravnos had posted on the Phoenix message board.

It involves deflecting the flow of light into target areas to make music and colored lights.
It is very cool.

The day before had been [livejournal.com profile] zosh’s birthday so there was cake after dinner.

There was much anticipation for the cake.

The we had the straightening of the Christmas tree.

That isn’t a tradition I am aware of, but I was told it had to be done before any games could be played.

The game of the night was a battle game [livejournal.com profile] yebo had found on sale. Each side gets castle bits, and various disk launchers to use to destroy the other persons things.

You set them up on opposite sides and go at it.

Each side had a different stragity for blocking their “people” and shooting back.

You can see two disks in flight towards my lines here. (The gold one in front of [livejournal.com profile] palusbuteo and the sliver one to his left along the wall.)

It was [livejournal.com profile] perrin_o_ravnos, [livejournal.com profile] palusbuteo and [livejournal.com profile] yebo against me and [livejournal.com profile] palusbuteo’s brother.

We knew were were in trouble when [livejournal.com profile] perrin_o_ravnos managed to get one of their cannons behind our lines. Our defense was that these toy weapons couldn’t aim for beans.

It was a fun game. But, between weather and an impending Phoenix job today, we didn’t stay too late.
