Our last morning on the ship we were expecting to get off before 9, so had an early breakfast as we went through the Drake passage.

I guess the wind had been high enough that the pilots had to wait to get on board. So, were were a few hours late coming into port.
They did give an extra lecture on the local tribes while we waited.

We docked about noon and soon were getting the ship.

We had to get through migrations back into Chile.

Then, onto busses to the airport.

The guide on the bus tried to go through the last 100,000 years of geological history in the 30 minute bus ride. He did cover a lot.

We did get to the airport before our charter flight was supposed to go, but no plane.

So, for several hours we waited until our charter flight arrived.

Instead of getting to Santiago before noon, we flew out about 4. Everyone was orderly and kept distance as they should. Right?

We did get a nice view of the Andes as we flew there.
Lots of very cool mountains, glaciers and such.

When we got to the coast there were some big floating things in lots of the waterways. No idea what they were for.

Then, Santiago.

Getting our luggage was a bit challenging.

Can you see my wife?

All of those people then had to get in an elevator that only held 3 folks at a time. That took a long time. Then, we needed to get in line to check in. That took a long time.
Then, the security line went through a long winding area then straightened out to go across the whole airport.

We were in the Santiago airport for about 3 1/2 hours, but only managed to get to our gate with 3 minutes before the boarding starts.d But, we did get on the plane.

I tried to get the moonrise just before we left, but couldn’t get a good shot of it.

We took off about 11:30, headed to the USA.
