Codeine and I don’t mix well

I tried the prescription cough syrup last night.
You’ve got to measure out 5ml with a dropper.

I fell asleep pretty quickly, still in my chair in the living room.
I woke up three hours later in the middle of the night.
For the next few hours I experienced vivid hallucinations.
My wife came out at one point and I said "Look out it almost got you!"

I did fall back asleep but woke up in different versions of the hallucination.

But, I actually did get more sleep at the end.
So, today I’m a bit better.

It was strange enough I don’t want to go through it again.


The hallucination:
I dreamed ancient Jewish artifacts were growing out of the floor in the hall between our living room and bathroom. They looked like giant paper matchsticks covered with ancient writing. 4’ tall, a foot wide.

There were three kinds to be divided amount the tribes still in existence. (I know…)
But, once in a while the room would change color and only one, much bigger than normal would grow out of the floor. That one was specific to a tribe and the color controlled which it would be.

The tribes each wanted to have the most. So, when 3 showed up it was fine. But, when it was just one they tried to control the color to get theirs to come out.
The fight for this was intense and they’d do anything to win.

But, I never saw any people. Only the artifacts.

I’d think it was over, and then look up and the hallway would be orange or red and I’d realize it wasn’t over.

I have no idea about this at all…
