There is a meme going around facebook saying “I wanted live through a history making event. It was supposed to be space travel, not a world wide plague.”

Well, I was around when they landed on the moon. I guess I get both.
(I’ll stay happy I avoid the nuclear war one that seemed pretty touch and go a few decades ago.)

Starting last Friday, the head of software where I work had not been in the office as he didn’t feel well.
A week later and he says he’s getting worse and quite worried that it is Corvid-19.
But, his doctor won’t authorize a test and is telling him to stay home, so who knows.

I only overlapped with him 2 days last week, but we did spend several meetings together.
I have a light cough now, and feel a bit congested.

I was working from home yesterday and today. There are other colds, flu and allergies around, all of which could easily explain a cough and congestion.

I do fall into a few of the higher risk groups. High blood pressure, high blood sugar, asthma.
I’m not super worried about it.
But, I’m more worried today than yesterday.

My state went from number 2 in the country for number of cases to number 8.
That isn’t that we’ve been taking care of things well so much as others have been doing it worst.

When we were down south two weeks ago, people were actively calling it a hoax there.
Two of the states overtaking mine are in that area.

The good news is I can do my job from home. I’ve got the same computer I used at work in front of me. My internet connection is as good, or maybe better.
I normally email out my work to people anyhow as it is electronic drawing files. So, even the guy who works for me one cubicle away usually gets emails from me.
I can video conference for other things.

So, for me, it isn’t a big change.

Many others aren’t so lucky.

And, if my coworker has infected the whole work group, we’re going to see how well that luck holds.
