That magical time of year...
Nov. 6th, 2008 09:16 amThere was always one day of fall I hated as a kid. That day, usually in late October in the rain, when every leaf on every tree seemed to drop at once.
As soon as the rain would stop, my mother would tell me to get out there and rake them all up. Cold, wet, slippery leaves that seemed to be made of lead.
(One of the reasons I like living in an apartment is that now that magical day needs to be taken care of by our maintenance staff.)
And, that day arrived today.
Yesterday, there were very few leaves on the ground. I could see all of the lines in the parking lot. My car, having driven home on the highway, had no leaves at all on it.
This morning:

I couldn’t even see out the windshield.

And, like snow, there were banks of leaves on the roads.

However, in good news
I haven’t tried the candy yet. Hopefully today.

My wife has been continuing with her giving me presents up to Sunday when I turn 45.

This is the noodle bowl, chopsticks, carved turtle and miso soup she’s given me over the last couple of days.
They’re nice presents. When she told me she was going to give me one a day, I was worried about how much she spent. But, these are nice things I enjoy that don’t (seem) to break the bank.
It’s a nice way to get presents.
Presents each day !

Sounds like Frank-Channukkah to me ! And you don't even need to wear a yamakah.
Enjoy, my friend !
