We set off in the morning towards the south.

Our first stop was Cahir Castle.

After the movie, we explored the rest of the castle.

You can see how it would be good defensively, the river is very fast around it.

It was a short walk from the parking area to the castle, but the doors were closed.

But, we could take photos.

The sign about being back at 10:45 was optimistic, but we waited.

The woman who works there did eventually turn up and let us in.

She was very insistent on us seeing the movie about the castle.

There was a couple there from Arizona that seemed much more interested in telling us what Geronimo did to his captives than the castle. But, we sat through the movie with them.

Other than that, there was a school group, but we didn’t see much of them.

We did explore for a bit. Even with small doors.

The woman who worked there showed us a cannon ball from 420 years ago that is still embedded in the wall.

But, then it was time to drive on.

We set out for The Vee, a pass through the mountains south of Cahir as it has an excellent view of the countryside.

Then farther up the road. You can see the road below.

We got to Cork and drove through the city.

Not having any luck finding parking in Cork, we went over to Blarney, where I knew they would have parking.

And, to the pub there.

Then off to the hotel where the restaurant was a strange diner.
