Saturday morning, after getting the rental car, we set off across LA.

You can see the Getty Museum from a fairly long way off as it is on top of a hill that looks over LA.

It is a very nice museum that is free to enter. But, you do have to pay for parking.

Once there you take a tram over the hill from the parking garage to the actual museum.

The woods you go through on the tram were very nice and we saw deer playing between the trees.

There did seem to be other things out there…

When we got to the top it was not yet open.

But, they said we could walk around the grounds and gardens before it did open.

You get very nice views from there on top of the hill.

Even the moon was looking at the place.

They have the longest fountain/water feature I’ve ever seen.
It starts at the top, runs through to the next level and then down along the path to the center of the garden.

Cool gardens.

We did see a lizard, if not a mountain lion.

Looks bigger than it was there…

Then, the museum opened and we went in.

There was a specific article we had wanted to see. It was cool.

Very interesting things.

I am not sure the Romans used that kind of halberd.

Even benches!

The rest of the museum had some very cool paintings I liked.

I always wonder about paintings of people where their name isn’t know. They went to a lot of work to get paintings and have still bene forgotten.
Someone should really come up with new identities for them…

Not just paintings either.

More benches!

Another one were I don’t think Jesus had to face that armor…

Three are places where you need to go outside between buildings and there are great views.

Some statues seem really happy to be out in the sunshine…

It is even a Pokestop…

We did stop at the cafe for a bite to eat.

Then another special exhibit.

Eventually we finished and set off. We were trying to get to the Griffith Observatory which wasn’t supposed to be too far off.

We did see it.

But, it was so crowded, folks were diverted away.

So, off across Hollywood and then onto the highway to our hotel.

Some strange things on walls…

And, along the highways.

But, we did get there.

We checked into the hotel.

The air-conditioner was in a very strange place.
