Tuesday we went back to LA.
We started at the "Autry Museum of the American West": https://theautry.org
They had a couple of special exhibits I wanted to see that were very nice.
I wasn’t as big on their western movie collection. But, I did see one costume from Zorro the Gay Blade.
Next we went off to the observatory we had wanted to see Saturday: http://www.griffithobservatory.org
It is up above the city and has a great view of the place.
Sadly, it was again busy and parking was hard to find. But, we did find a place on the road near it and walked the rest of the way.
It was only one kilometer up hill in high temperatures. (Over 30C.)
But, it was very nice to see the place.
On the drive back we stopped and bought supplies to pack the lightsabers at the office supply store closest to Disneyland.
We got a document tube at Stapes that looked like it would work.
"Do folks come in here from Disney Land looking for ways to pack their lightabers?" my wife asked the woman at the register.
"No!" she said. "I wish they would!"
"Wishes come true," I said. "That’s what we’re going to put in this tube to bring on a plane tomorrow."
"Cool."
Back at the hotel we packed. I had planned out the space we had and what we bought fairly well. We got it all in the bags we had and actually had one back left over.
So, I went back into the park while my wife rested in our hotel.
It isn’t as much fun by yourself. But, it was still cool.
I didn’t buy more. That’s probably for the best.
Today we got up at 2 in the morning, drove to the airport, returned the rental car, and got on a plane that took off at 6AM.
We got to Boston about 2:30 in the afternoon, got our luggage and drove home.
We stopped for Chinese takeout on the way.
It’s not quite 8PM, but my wife has already gone to bed and I might well soon as well.
It was a very fun trip and we both enjoyed it a lot.
But, we’re tired and tomorrow go back to work…
