Genetic homeland
Jan. 26th, 2019 07:08 pm23 and me has now done a map to show where in Ireland and England people with my genetics concentrate.

The Ireland one does fit with at least some of my family history. My mother’s mother’s family is from Kerry, the place with the dark blue of highest concentration.
But, it doesn’t show anything in Northern Ireland. And, my father’s mother’s mother came from Richill in Northern Ireland.
The England one is less clear. It’s been a fair bit of generations since my family left there. Some of the areas with darker color match what I’ve been told. Don’t know of anyone in Glasgow.
Of course, folks move around. Just because my family lived in one place 400 years ago, doesn’t mean they live in the same place now.
Still, interesting. They say they’ll come out with other maps in the future.
If it’s been 150 years for Ireland, 400 for England, it is a lot more since anyone I know of in my family lived on the continent.
