Vacation photos day 6

The morning on the beach was also nice, but less crowded.


Some big ships had been out there all night.


We walked down the beach path a bit to where they have a bunch of sculptures in the walkway. They are all based on local legends/fairy tales. I think they’re cool.









Then, we walked back to find one of the beach restaurants open for breakfast.


We had a nice breakfast on the beach.


Then, off to the castle near Amsterdam.

It really is like a painting.









The area near the castle was very scenic.



And, the castle is nice.



We started with the gardens.



Benches in the garden!



Then, we headed into the castle itself.



The castle was under the landing pattern to the airport, so we saw a lot of planes.

Big spiders in the halls.


We took the tour where they bring you through the rooms set up as they would have been when the castle was in use as a castle.








It’s a castle, so tapestries.


That most holy grail.


You can climb all over the place in the castle.






They were doing a puppet show in the courtyard.


They have exhibits and collections of armor and such there too.


I liked this stairway center post.


We walked about the earthen dam around the castle. Nice views and lots of ducks.


I guess you can take a boat there from Amsterdam.


They also have a tent with birds of prey.



Then, we drove back through the narrow streets to the airport.



After we dropped off the car, we checked into the airport hotel and went to our room.


At home they do not have vending machines with alcohol in them.


Most trips we have rain and cold follow us. But, this trip it was hot and sunny almost every day.
Turns out the storms were at home waiting for us.
