Friday afternoon we left work early and headed into Boston to the airport. The Friday before Christmas it was pretty crowded.
And, there seemed to be a lot of dogs flying.

I was a bit worried about the flight down and exactly when we’d arrive.

But, we did eventually land.

Sadly, the Orlando Airport is not doing well. The trams you MUST take to and from the planes were not running well and there was a long wait to actually get to the terminal.

But, we did eventually get out of the airport and to the hotel.

We stayed at the hotel my wife likes, which is not a cheap place. But, it is very nice.

Even mermaids stay there.

Saturday we had our family Christmas get together as our cousin Thomas was heading out to Mexico on the 24th.

After that, he and his sister Christine joined us for dinner at the local Mexican place.

Sunday was Christine’s birthday. Her dad had booked us for a boat ride out of Mt Dora Florida.

The cruise took us across the lake.

Along the shore was an eagle’s nest.

Then, into the canal on the far side of the lake.

The canal has lots of homes along the side.

The canal turns into a river that has a lot of wild life along it.

We saw bananas growing.

There was an island that had a lot of gators.

Not a place I’d want to go for a walk.

As we toured around, we became part of someone else’s tour as a drone came by and checked out our boat.

The tour ended when we got to the next lake.

So, back around to our start lake.

The tour guides used the same type of tip bucket we do at Phoenix Swords.

Then into town for dinner.

There was a discussion about when our reservations were and what to do until then.

So, we stopped at a Cuban place for some drinks (coffee, soda and lemonade…).

The waitress was very entertaining.

Then, off to dinner.

My wife liked the plastic chairs and table.

It was a nice meal.

Then, off through town to look at the lights.

I’ve never seen a private house marked this way before…

Afterwards we went to Christine’s town to see the lights there.
There was a very festive spider there.

We looked at the lights there for a bit.

Then, back to the hotel.

Christmas day we woke up and said goodbye to our nice hotel.

Over at our cousin’s place we saw ospreys and eagles.

And, we had a nice Christmas dinner.

My cousin put out our grandmother’s silver. That was very nice.

Then, off to the airport where there were very long lines.

Our plane from Boston was quite late.

So, it was about 1AM we got back to Boston.

Today, we were reminded we weren’t in Florida anymore.

But, it’s still nice to be home.
