Strange dreams
Jul. 27th, 2017 08:29 amJuly had been my second lowest month for dreams of the year. But, I’ve been having a lot of strange ones lately and it has been enough to bump July to third lowest. (September and August are now the ones lower than it.)

I am not remember too much of them. But, enough to count.
The one the other day was I was summoned to a family council because they wanted to discuss their displeasure at how things were going for me.
But, it wasn’t the living relatives that called me.
I showed up and a bunch of bright green ghosts were sitting around complaining about me.
It was sort of like the scene in Mulan if you’ve seen it, only I could see and hear them.
I put up with them yelling at me for a bit, then told them to go away as they were dead and I’m not and I’m the one who has to live this life.
They were not happy, but I still walked.
I can see the sources of that one. I had just watched something on Youtube about last year’s Ghostbusters remake. I had been looking into my family after visiting the Pequot museum last week to see what part of the Pequot War involved them. (I can’t find much.)
The other dream my wife and I were in Paris with my aunt and her husband. But, it looked more like Amsterdam than Paris. We were having lunch at a restaurant by the harbor and there were a lot of boats going in and out. (Yeah, I know. Paris is on a river and doesn’t have an ocean harbor. Give me a break, it was a dream. And, I’ve been to Amsterdam and seen the harbor. I’ve never been to Paris…)
For some reason, my wife and I wanted to get to England, but didn’t think we’d be able to by normal means.
My aunt told me she had hired a smuggler to take us across the channel.
She pointed and a speed boat pulled up to where we were having lunch together.
“I am here to take you to England,” the man at the wheel of the boat said. “We must go at once and not waste time!”
My wife climbed on and sat in the back.
As I climbed on he pushed the throttle forward and took off. I did not have a good grip and rolled off the back into the harbor.
My wife yelled at him and he turned around to get me. As I climbed onto the back, he took off again, but this time I had a good grip. I climbed up along the side, but only had a very small foothold to stand onto and had to hold the side of the cabin tightly not to fall off.
As we shot away, my aunt shouted after us that we had forgotten my camera and our bags.
“We have to go back for that!” I shouted at the man. “We need those things.”
“Very well,” he said, shaking his head. “But, we are losing time!”
He turned around and where I was on the side of the boat now lined up with the second floor of the building next to my aunt. I was able to reach in, get our bags and my camera, without getting off of the boat.
“Got them!” I said, and he shot off again.
Not at all what triggered that one. I’ve haven’t been on a boat in a bit. We did do that fast ferry to Nantucket 6 or so weeks ago. And, I did tell my aunt about it when we saw her 2 weeks ago.
But, strange it should show up this week if that was the trigger.
Clearly my family is on my mind a lot these days.
This used to be the time of year when my sister would come home and visit and the whole family would get together for my grandmother’s birthday on August 8th.
So, maybe that’s it. Don’t know.
