(We begin this dream already in progress…)
After I was turned away from my father’s house, we stood on the walkway.
“My sister has moved back there,” I said to my wife. “I should be allowed
to visit her! I’m not going to leave until I do!”
“You can’t stand out here where he’ll see you or he’ll stay barricaded in
there,” my wife said.

We retreated to the garage. To keep from being seen, we sat on the floor
on the back corner next to the house. So, someone coming out of the house
would be least likely to see us.

After a while we heard the front door open and someone walking down the
front walk towards the garage.
A young woman, somewhere in her early teens, walked by the entrance of the
garage.
As she walked past, she turned and saw us sitting there.
She gave out a big sigh.

“What are you doing there?” she asked.
“I’m waiting to see my sister,” I said.
“He’s not going to let you see her,” she replied.
“That’s only because he has been browbeaten into not letting me.”
“Browbeaten? It’s not like it is Mary (my mother) who is stopping him.”
“He is drawn to women who browbeat him. It may not be my mother, but
someone is making him do this.”
“L(missed the rest) is like that,” the young woman agreed. “But, you still
can’t stay here.”

She, my wife and I walked across the street where there was a large flat
rock in front of the house there and sat on it.
We looked across at my father’s house for a sign of my sister, but didn’t
see one.
Dream ends

This was a VERY strange dream for me.
It theoretically revolves around my having a confrontation with my father
about my sister, but that isn’t in the dream.
There hasn’t been a teenage girl living in that house since my sister left
for college in 1965.
My brother was the youngest living there and he stopped being a teenager in
1985.
And, who is the woman who’s name starts with L that is browbeating my
father?
His first wife was Grace, his second Mary.
My sister’s middle name is Louise, but that clearly is not who is being
discussed.

The other thing is my sister would NEVER willingly go back to that house.
When she came to our wedding in 93 the only condition she made was that at
no time would she be expected to go to that house. So, the idea she would
move back in is very strange to me, even in a dream.

I have to admit, I woke up thinking this is a dream about my sister’s death.
My father has been dead for almost 16 years.
So, if she’s “moving in” with him…
And, since I haven’t seen her since 1993, not being able to see her means I
never will.

I’m not sure about the young woman in the dream.
She didn’t remind me of anyone. She didn’t have a name in the dream.

I am incapable of ignoring the math that the child my wife and I lost would
be about that age.

It is strange that all my ghosts seem to live in that house.
The house where I grew up.
The house I am sure was haunted.
Even in my dreams the ghosts are there.

Whatever it means I had trouble getting to sleep after it.
