Having trouble buying things

Last weekend I had trouble buying that box I liked.
This weekend, a somewhat similar problem.
My computer has been very slow lately. I tried updating the software, didn’t make a difference.
So, I thought I’d add more memory to the computer.
It’s an Apple Mac Mini. So, I went to the Apple website and looked up what it took.
According to the Apple web site, the memory I needed was in the Apple store not too, too far from here. (And, close to the Indian restaurant my wife and I like.)

So, we headed off there.
I walked into the store and one of the Apple people asked if they could help me.
"I’m here to buy more memory for my Mac," I said.
"We don’t sell that here," he said.
"Your web site says you do."
"But, we don’t."
"So, when it says 'available for pickup today' it is, in fact, lying to me."
"I wouldn’t put it that way."
"But, on line it says I can buy it here, but when I come here, you say I can’t."
"You can buy it on line for new computers."
"No. It was specifically for an upgrade."
"It’s only for if you make an appointment for our Genius Bar and they put it in for you."
"Why are you willing to send it to my house for the same price?"
"Then, you’d put it in yourself."
"So, why don’t you sell it to me now and I can put it in at home."
"We don’t sell it here."
"Despite your web page saying you do."
"Correct."
"Goodbye," I said and walked out of the store.
At home I’ve ordered it on line from another company for 1/4 the price.
Hope it works out…
