Adventures in Maine
Aug. 3rd, 2008 06:49 amIt’s a three hour drive to Augusta Maine, the capitol of the state. We decided to drive up early Saturday morning and only spend one night.
So, we were on the road about 4:30.
We crossed the big bridge into Maine (that may or may not be rigged to explode) and made our way North.

We had seven of us here. And, it was a good bunch. With the exception of Casey (who is a special guest star and consultant to the group) all of us have done more than 100 shows with Phoenix Swords.
I’m glad we brought our most experienced people as it was a long busy day.

In addition to the fire shows like we had been doing in CT last month, we were also doing our comedy shows.
This included “Don Quixote”.

And, the puppet show where I let children chase me about with my puppets.

Depending on what you count as a show, we did 6-10 shows yesterday. 3 full fire. 3 full comedy. 2 “teasers” at the opening and closing of the faire. Plus other things as the day went on.
So, when it was all over, we were very tired. Especially give the time we got up in the morning.
We found a barbecue restaurant in town and went there for dinner. (Everyone knows you go to Maine for barbecue, right?)
Not everyone was happy I was taking pictures.

But, one the beer came, they seemed happier.

Once the food came, they were happier still.

Today we’re going to do it all again, the drive home.
I expect that will make me tired too...
