Witches behind the pharmacy?

Several of the folks I know on Facebook have been showing this story today.
Of course it doesn’t mean there was a Wallgreens there 324 years ago when
they had the which trials. (Yes, I know how it is supposed to be spelled…)
But, there is now.

It’s funny that the article says they don’t want the site to become public,
but say it is behind a Wallgreens. There are only 2 in Salem, and only one
at the bottom of the hill they describe.
So, not very secret.

One branch of my family did live in Salem for a while between 377 and 365
years ago.
Their exact reason for leaving isn’t clear. They did go on to found a town
on the south side of Boston.
I’ve always imagined my great, great, great, great, great, great, great,
great grandfather said something like “you’re all morons” when he left.
But, maybe that is me projecting.
He died the year of the witch trials. Maybe because he couldn’t live with
the stupidity of his former neighbors.

I know there are folks who love the town. The town has become the center
of supernatural stuff, which would have totally horrified the folks who had
the witch trials. So, that’s a plus.
I will admit they have a very good museum in town. (www.PEM.org )
But, I think my family made the right decision to leave 41 years before
that awful stuff behind the Walgreens happened.

I can't imagine the location will remain free of people. I feel bad for the Walgreens.
