Because my camera developed a lens flaw while we were in Wales, I bought a new one in a pre-Christmas sale.
As always, I try to make the first photo I take with anything that takes them a photo of my wife.

(Yeah, we’re messy people…)

The week has had strange weather. Much warmer than usual. Fair bit of clouds and rain. And, not a lot of sun as the day after tomorrow is our shortest day of the year.

We’ve had some strange cloud formations too.

I’m not sure what this half and half sky is, but there was a bunch of it.

This is what I see when I leave work and it isn’t cloudy.

And, I get to work before this.

Eventually, the sun does show up.

At lunch time it can even be nice.

My wife wanted us to take lightsaber photos so she could change our Facebook profile photos.

So, we did. We’ve got a bunch of lightsabers around the place.
I can pretend it is because we used to do Star Wars birthday parties with the sword troupe. But, I owned them before that…

I have to admit, I spent more time than I should have thinking about this…

But, we still have a few days.

Right now it says the weather should be warm and mostly sunny..

That would be a nice change from here.

But, I expect the weather to notice our plans and send a cold wave as it normally does.
My wife thinks we confused it with Wales. We’ll see.

Thursday night we went to see the Star Wars movie. We got there 77 minutes early, and were still about that number in line.

Today one of our sword troupe members got married.
Sadly, last night my wife was told she had to work.
One of the professors was asked to do a live interview on CNN over Skype and someone had to set up the system to do it.
The interview was live and at the same time as the wedding.
No one else could set it up, so my wife had to do it.
Sad.

So, I went off to the wedding myself. It was on the other side of Worcester, and there is no good way to get across the city.

It was "the Hillside" church. Seemed like a good name for it.

Seemed like a nice place.

I knew our sword fighting friend. I had met his mother. One of the bridesmaids had also been in our troupe for all of 2 shows.
That was it for folks I knew.
So, as everyone I knew was very busy with what was going on, I sat off by myself and watched.

Then, the guy running the ceremony said "No cameras. We have professional camera people and you’ll be in their way."

So, no other photos of it.

I did think it nice that when they announced them as married, they played the "Star Wars" theme.

I waited in the line to give my congratulations.

As I was leaving the church a young boy (maybe 5) said to me "you’ve got to go to the basement now", and pointed down the stairs.
"Why?"
"Boys go to the basement. Girls stay upstairs."
He had been the ring bearer for the wedding, so I thought he was directing people to something for the reception.
I walked down to the basement and it was empty.
"Why did I have to come down here?" I asked him.
"So you can stay here forever!" he shouted and closed the door to the basement.
I could see him laughing through the window of the door. Then, he ran back up the stairs.
I opened the door and left.

I stopped off at the reception long enough to drop off our gift, apologize to the folks who were at the table we were going to be at, and then left.
(We were going to be at table 2! My family put me at table 13 where the band was 14 at a family wedding…)

I drove back to Worcester through the small town traffic.

Only one major road in town and everyone wants to use it on Saturday.

I picked up some food for us and met my wife at home.
Then, did laundry.

Two work days next week, then the rest of the year off.
That will be nice.

Your desks are like mine. I am quite an organized person but my desk (and house) can get very cluttered. I do know where everything is though!
