My traveling for the trip started before we left. I had lost my camera battery charger and needed to do something about it.
So, the day we left for the trip I took a lunchtime trip to New Hampshire (less than 10 miles from where I work) to look for a replacement.
I had not expected to see the Batmobile.

They looked like self made fins. But, it did say "Batmobile" on it.
The good news was I found a charger for my batteries.

I left work a bit early and soon we were on the way to Boston.

We parked in the "Angry Paul Revere" section.

I figure he’s angry because after going to jail for shouting "The British are coming" we were going back.

But, despite disproval of dead patriots, we got on the plane.

I tried to sleep on the plane, but without much luck. The folks in front of us seemed intent on sleeping on our laps and the plane was just the wrong temperature for me to sleep.
But, I did put my eye shades on and got some rest if not sleep.

A mere five hours later, we were circling Dublin.

It was almost dawn as we came in to land.

The good news is Dublin airport is a good place to get breakfast.

Soon we were getting on our plane to Cardiff.

It continued to be almost dawn.

But, it was certainly daylight when we got to Cardiff.

There was no immigration or customs to deal with as we had flown in from Ireland. The stamp we got in our passport there was all we needed.
Renting the car was no problem.
Soon we were on our way.

LOL, I remember there used to be a car that drove by my apartment every day that the owner had welded a bunch of metal to in crazy shapes and had painted neon colors. *shrug*

Oh man. I'd love to be able to fly five hours and be circling Dublin! That would be awesome.

I'd love it if getting to your part of the world was closer too...

And, we had a strong tail wind. Normally it is 6 hours...

My wife and I were first there about 19 years ago, and it was very different then.
This place is totally new.

Just 5 hours to get to the UK?

.. hmm .. takes us at least 28 hours with stopovers in Asia or the middle east.

oh yeah - I understand. It's like when you fly Melbourne-Perth. It's one hour quicker flying back the other way due to the winds.
