Week in photos
Oct. 23rd, 2015 10:38 pmI saw a back window decal I liked.

One of my big problems this week was the setting sun on my way home.
In certain places it is right at the horizon and right in your eyes.

This makes some drivers just stop on the highway. And, that causes big traffic jams.
Here is one were the actual jam is around the corner a few miles up.

In this case I got off and took back roads.

It may not have been faster, but it was less frustrating.
If I leave work later, it is farther down and less of a problem.

But, I don’t feel like staying late just to avoid the sun.
I will admit, it can be pretty.

Thursday was cloudy, so I made good time going home. Same number of cars, just not stopping.

My car’s remote access battery died. So, I had to figure out how to fix that.

My wife had one done at the dealership and they charged her $50.
I bought a $3 battery and it worked fine once I figured out how to get it apart.
I got a new bag of wedding rings.

I’m allergic to nickel which is in most jewelry. So, I wear rubber O-rings for a wedding ring. They don’t last forever, so I have to buy more.
But, at $5.60 for a bag of 100, it is still a good deal.
I’m pretty sure this is Venus and Jupiter just before dawn the other day.

I think that is a smudge of Mars below and to the left. It should be right up there.
Going in to work in the morning these days has me getting to work just as the sun crosses the horizon. So, going down the back roads to work the sun walks down the trees towards me.

I probably should say "what a nice fall day" when I see this.

Instead I said "what is that raven doing there?"

Turns out there was bad work news. Go figure.
This is the pumpkin that cost me my morning scone.

Friday I avoided pumpkin pondering and secured a scone!

One of my coworkers is building a roof to their cubicle.

That moon was trying to sneak up on my by hiding behind some electrical wires.

Almost worked too.

My drive to work usually doesn't have nature in it as we drive into the city.
Good solution to the ring problem.
