I like the fall.
Clear skies. Cool weather. Pretty leaves.


(Back when I had to rake up those leaves I was not such a fan…)

Of course that blinding light on the drive home?
No so good.


But, once the sun is behind the hills it isn’t so bad.


Our town library is being rebuilt. Don’t know when it’s going to be done.


I do like sunsets, and this time of year I get to see a lot of them.



The folks of the liquor store had their sign backwards. Instead of pointing in towards their store, it pointed out towards the road.

Not sure if this is a result of product testing…

We had some clouds mid-week. It can get pretty dark as the sun is low anyhow.


Trucks aren’t allowed in the high speed lane. So, I don’t see that truck there and neither do you…


I came out of work the other day to a casting call for a Hitchcock movie.


The fall festival is over in our town, so they’re taking down the scarecrows on the common.

And, I mean as I watch.


I’m not sure why this was worthy of the local news.


I think Mario might have had a problem with his cart near the center of town.


Thursday everyone wanted to drive through the center of town at the same time. Don’t know why. It is the time I’m normally there and there usually aren’t all those people.


This week the moon returned.

I had an odd problem coming out of the supermarket at lunch today. Which little blue PriusC was mine?
One off to the left, one off to the right…


It was the one to the left…

Such a magic time of year! It's the thing I hate most about being overseas most of the time... I can take a pass on the Thanksgiving through NYE holiday season but fall leaves and Halloween... ! Thank you for the vicarious visit.

In Ohio it's just starting to change colors in the trees. Your trees are so vibrant!

I thought you are farther south then me, I'm in Toronto, Ontario. Our leaves are just starting to change now, we have about 3 more weeks before they are all changed. Huh.

You're only about a degree farther north in Toronto. So, not all that much.
I'm told our being near the ocean makes a difference in the leaves as well.

Lorries being slow is one of the things that really bugs me about my commute. Motorways here tend to be three lanes, with anything involving a trailer restricted to lanes one and two.

Vehicles towing a trailer are also restricted in terms of speed, generally less than 100kph (62mph).

What gets up my nose is the people stepping out into lane three without any consideration of what's backing up behind them, especially when they do so at 70mph or less.

Re the trees, if you ever find yourself near Skelmersdale in mid autumn, it's well worth a look. The town is much maligned, but the tree planting chaps knew what they were about, and from appropriate vantange points, the environ is quite lovely in autumn.

The lorry in question was going up a fairly steep hill. I suspect they did it to avoid one that really slowed down in front of it.
But, that still doesn't make it right...
