This morning we got up before dawn and headed out to the mountains.

Soon the sun came up.

We crossed several rivers.

And, climbed up into the mountains.

If you’ve ever heard the song "Alice’s Restaurant", this show is in the town where it takes place.
As the song says, one traffic light in town. The festival was right at that intersection.

When we got to the site we found someone else had set up where we had expected to set up.

They said the festival organizer told them to set up there.
Strange that the festival organizer would have put up the great big sign with our name on it and then told someone else to set up there…
But, we’re flexible.

I guess the other folks didn’t really like us setting up there and thought we should go somewhere else.
I pointed to the sign and the map saying we’d be there and explained we needed to be where folks would expect us.
It was only about 42F/5C when we got there. That’s a bit cool. But, it was clear and sunny and that was nice.

My wife and I weren’t feeling very well. But, the show must go on.

The good news is one of the two new folks showed up with her kids and helped us set up. They only stayed for a few hours, but some help is better than no help.

For the first time in I don’t remember how long, I actually put my armor on. It was tight, but it went on.

We were only scheduled for 1 15 minute show all day. Which means that every time someone came up and asked us what we did, we got up and showed them.
10 to 5.
Almost continuous demos.
But, eventually it was over.

So, we packed up and got ready to go home.

They told us the parking for performers was a 3 minute walk. I don’t know who measured that as it took me 12.

It was past the crest of the hill down the road.
But, I got the car and we left.

Pretty scenery.

Going down out of the mountains I guess you have to worry about run away trucks.

According to the sign on the highway it is the highest place on that highway until you get to South Dakota.

We stopped for Thai food and went home.
Tomorrow, we do it all again!

It might well be a case that they were told to set up there. The event is not well organized. Our name is only on one side of the sign, and not the side where they set up. The person who told them might well not have know there was a name on the other side.
