After the show Saturday we headed over to [livejournal.com profile] evrgreen and his wife’s house in New Hampshire.

They continue to have work done on the house.

Given how the last couple of weeks have been, it was VERY nice to be there.

Our hosts remarked how quickly my wife headed to the lake. "You’re lucky she waited for the car to come to a complete stop," I said.

But, that didn’t stop me from joining her.

Sadly we weren’t able to stay up too late to visit as we both fell asleep.

In the morning I managed to wake up without waking the dogs.

I saw the humming birds, but wasn’t quick enough to get a photo.

The dogs did not wait long to wanting their breakfast.

We were happy that they still had some of our older large bottles of Pepsi.

Sadly, you don’t seem to be able to get them any more.

Soon, the sun came out and we moved outside.

Our friend Gary also came to visit. It was very nice to see him.

We did go swimming again.

And, we visited a lot.

Evrgreen cooked us a nice lunch too.

And, swimming.

But, we all got out for lunch.

Their newest dog, Dash, is a rescue and very nervous around people. But, feeding him some sausage this morning made him much more comfortable around me.

It was a very nice visit. Sort, but still helped me relax a whole lot.
But, soon we were headed home for another week of work.

They aren't small dogs. That much is true.

We had a couple of weeks of warm weather and that helped. But it was cooler than it is when we usually visit in August.
The lake is fed from underground springs, so there isn't a huge difference in temperature as long as the top isn't frozen. But, the surface layer certainly does change through the year from ice to warm. Right not it is cool, but swimable.

It looks like a lovely place. The small sections of NH I have seen have been beautiful.

It is very nice. I lived there for a few years back in the 80's. But, not so many jobs...

Not too cold at the surface.
But, I didn't dive deep.
