Game night April
Apr. 11th, 2015 10:59 amNormally in March we do a corned beef boiled dinner for Saint Patrick’s day. But with the special Pi day this year we decided to do pie instead.
So, this month we did the corned beef.
My wife obtained 15pounds/7kg of the salted beef brisket Wednesday so that Thursday I could start cooking it.

It took about 5 hours.
There was certainly less snow in

Except the person who showed up late, we all had dinner sitting together. Very nice!

The first game we played was "hungry, hungry caterpillar".

Perhaps no surprise, the person who works with young kids won…
Then we played "Bang". An Italian western game.

Unless you are the sherif, no one knows if you’re a good guy or a bad guy.
I was a bandit sharp shooting woman with a horse and a gun.
I got off a few shots at the sheriff, but the deputy got me.

There was a lot of reference to the rules as none of us speak or read Italian.

(The cards did have English translations, but it wasn’t always clear the scope of the instructions.)
Finally we played cave man Catan.

I’m not a huge Catan fan, but it wasn’t too bad.
Josh and I did have a very interesting conversation about the level of randomness in games and what level we like best.
