So, starting Friday we’re doing the Southern CT Ren Faire fire shows.
We’re busy tomorrow, so we needed to do practice tonight.
Folks came over. We started to practice.
It got smokey. Very smokey. More than we could explain with our stuff.
Then, the fire trucks arrived.
A car, on the opposite side of the apartment complex, had burst into fire.
I told folks not to light up anything else, then went to look.

The car was on fire. I’m glad it didn’t spread to the buildings.

It seems very strange to me that this would happen when we were practicing fire on the other side of the complex. But, we were more than 500 feet away on the opposite side.

It did put a damper on practice. We did get to try new things.
Creamer: yes. Bunny: yes. Fire hat: no.
Hopefully the show will be better.

Thank goodness that you were all on the opposite side, or I am sure that there would have been some skeptical people sticking their noses in to your business !

Cars do catch fire from time to time, perhaps more often than some people think - it is most often started by an electrical problem - my years of working in a garage as part time mechanic showed me some pretty weird stuff !
