My wife wanted to go to the Natural History Museum at Harvard as they are have a new exhibit of sea creatures in glass: http://hmnh.harvard.edu
I haven’t been to that museum since the 70’s so figured it would be fun to visit.
On the way in we stopped at the Swiss Bakery for some croissants. They are quite good there and if we’re in the area we like to stop there.

It was the first full day of spring, so it was snowing…
The museum web site is pretty clear that you should abandon all hope of parking near the museum. But, being a snowy Saturday in March we still risked it. Once we got past the meters taking quarters only, we were all set and went into the museum.
They have a very large room full of flower reproductions done in glass.

They have a lot of rocks.

They also have a bunch of fossils, preserved animals and other things.

And now, the Beetles.

Wait, we came here for sea creatures in glass. Actually there weren’t that many…

There was even some history and geography.

The museum adjoins the Peabody Museum: https://www.peabody.harvard.edu

So, we walked over there and found an exhibit on war and weapons. Just our thing!

They also have quite a bit on native american history and culture.

I always feel a bit strange on this one as my family was very involved in that war…

History would certainly have been different if my family lost that one.
But, not how it happened.
It was an interesting day at the museum. We probably won’t wait another 40 years to go back.
