We did get to see the movie. But, the curse continued.
Now, we’re home and happy to be so.

Before we left for the movie we had left my wife’s car at the garage for a tune up. They found some problems and said it would be $1000 of repairs. On top of the same amount we paid last week for my car this is a lot.

As I already wrote about, my wife and I waited almost 2 hours for the movie. But, we are stubborn people and sat there in the lobby until we could go in and watch the film.

It’s a strange film. I have to take it as a comedy as otherwise it would be very offensive. but, it seems to be a comedy, so I guess it is OK.

As we left the movie, we got caught in a very long line of traffic getting out. The street light at the end of the road with the theater was only letting 2 cars through per green light and there were about 25 cars wanting to leave.
And, it started to snow. Not a few flakes, but really snow.

My wife asked if we had enough gas. I pointed out it said we had 28 miles of range and it was only 6 home. While I don’t like going under 100 miles of range, I thought it would be fine.

We were discussing the movie. About the artistic way so many people’s heads exploded. And, about our feelings that maybe the movie shouldn’t have made the direct connection that if you save the world you get to fuck a Swedish princess up the ass.

Just as we agreed this was not really a point we felt we liked in the movie, even if over all we still both thought the movie was fun, the range on my car went from 28 to 0, skipping all numbers in between.
The "Get gas now" light began to flash.

My wife’s phone rang. It was the garage. Her car was going to be $1500, not $1000. And, going to take several days. If she wanted a loaner car, she needed to get to the garage in the next 30 minutes before they closed for the rest of the weekend.

"The curse continues," I said.

So, we talked about the snow. Our work weeks. The food we were going to cook over the weekend.
We got to the gas station filled up, got to the garage, rescued our sword from my wife’s car and got the loaner, and got home without further problem.

Who knows what I’m risking by even posting this.
But, if you can just ignore all sorts of things about the movie, it can still be fun.
The heads exploding is very artistic and I’ve never seen so many explode at once.

I'm glad we did our taxes early and have the refund.
Otherwise it would have been difficult.

Ugh.

Sorry to hear about this 'curse'.

I too tempted fate once with the Mileage/Gas Remaining gauge on my Soob.

I got it down to about 50 miles left at work, which at the time was about…40 miles away.
Figured I'd just gas up on the way home, as there are 3 gas stations about 3/4 mile up from work, on the road towards home.

I get about 50 feet down the road at the end of the day sitting in rush hour / traffic light delay traffic.
…Suddenly my Low Gas warning light comes on. (the gas pump shaped light)

When I got home I consulted the Manual, it said "Only use this indicator as an estimate" yeah guess so!

Sorry to hear about the repairs. My time is coming (actually I hope to get there this week, weather depending)

It sounds like this flick is not one to see with Dad

I have no idea what your dad likes in movies. But, if you think of Michael Caine and Colin Firth doing something like Kill Bill, you might be in the right area...

Wow, that's some curse! Reminds me of how I was thwarted from going to France three times and am now convinced that I should never go there....

See, I'm behind in my LJ reading, so disregard the comment where I asked if you were still going to see the movie. :}

I had no idea what the movie was even about and had literally never heard of it. I just happened to be in the area when a girlfriend invited me to see a movie. I enjoy those odd, quirky movies though and really liked it.

We have been to the cinema and I read the time wrong, so we missed a part. What did you see? Also "Wild tales"?
